2023 Corvette Z06 Review // The $100,000 Supercar

Published 2022-10-03
The 2023 Corvette C8 Z06 ($106,000 in the US, $128,000 starting in Canada) aspires to achieve a formidable goal: to slay supercar titans and crush its competition for a fraction of the cost. The mad scientists at Corvette say they designed it to have both the soul of a Ferrari 458 and the clinical speed of a Porsche GT2 RS. An extremely bold claim.

670 horsepower. 8600 rpm redline. This is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in any production car ever. Will it be able to live up to its mighty expectations? Thomas and James aim to find out. We hope you enjoy the episode. Thanks for watching! SUBSCRIBE!

In the day and age of boosted cars and moving to EV's a 670hp from a 5.5 n/a V8 is absolutely incredible.

I love the way this engine sounds. It has all the soul of a flat-plane engine while still retaining some of that LS "shriek". The fact that an NA 5.5L V8 makes 670 hp is insane.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate what amazing content Thomas and James bring for us? I absolutely love their videos. Love from India.

You guys are truly the successor to top gear. Keep up the great content!

"The car is so TIGHT in the REAR END that I could feel it in my back perfectly" BEST car handling summary EVER 😂😂 great job as always to you guys and everyone else involved in making these inspiring videos

What an absolutley amazing piece of machinery. I currently own a C5 Z06 and thought I'd never see another Z06 I'd love but I love this one. Even that Acceleration Yellow is amazing. Thank you GM for keeping the spirit alive.

I’m guessing the embargo’s been lifted with the amount of reviews that just popped up on my feed, yet somehow throttle house is always my first choice. You guys are honestly the best car reviewers on the site, the production quality is excellent, please keep it up

You guys outdid yourselves this time, new level of production quality unlocked! :D
I closed my eyes, and though for a moment that I was listening to a larger Ferrari 360. This is by far the best sounding US car ever! And as always, an absolute pleasure to see you review it!

I know it's a BIG ask but it would be so cool to see the C8 Z06 compared head to head vs the 458 Speciale. Would be one hell of a comparison video if you can find one.

I was half expecting James to say the brakes were "brake-ier" 😉😂🤣
Then I got distracted by the sheer melodious sound of the Z06...

Thanks guys for yet another awesome review! I am looking forward to you hitting an incredibly well-deserved 3 million subscribers 😎
  • I have watched this twice and I'm probably going to watch it again. I absolutely love what you guys verbally flesh out the magnificence of this car.

Really proud of GM for this one. Absolutely amazing, completely bad ass, and done in-house with a warranty. BRAVO!!
  • This show is TV quality. Great production and great content. Rivals top gear of the old days imo
  • Michael Marcus
Love the idea of a Chevy flat plane crank dual overhead cam motor. I hope it’s as reliable as a typical ls
  • Terry Graham
I'm sure it will be covered in the home track. But I'd like to have seen some claimed power numbers and times.. but I guess it's all moot until you bring one home to try it out real life..
Great videos! Love them all. You guys had me rolling when you just started to hop out after "it's got a little more carbon fiber"
  • interested to see how this stacks up against the Stinray’s lap time on their test track

I love how Thomas got emotional describing the beauty of how the design of the engine translates into the perfect synchronization of drivability between man and machine thus creating the ultimate driving experience.
  • Tenzin Smith
I hope they make a ton of these so they don’t just become collector cars. It’s a more reasonable 458 and I love it

The twin turbo and supercharger builds are gonna be crazy!!

Oh and when its straight piped 🤯
