Send us q's for the GF Debrief under this comment! Make sure to send also some questions for our fearless director and cameraman, Mark!
  • The old show: Ryan is scared, Shane is dismissive. The new show: Ryan is slightly braver, Shane a little more open to believing in stuff.
    Character development
  • @baedelus
I love that Ryan is incredibly polite and respectful for 99.9% of the exploration and then when he’s done, his last 2 minutes as he’s running out he’s just hurling insults the entire way
  • @firebirdheats
Honestly for me, any ghostly things in this episode were completely overshadowed by the solitary cells. Alone in the dark, naked and cold with only a hole as a toilet? That is pure psychological torture. I can't get over how evil that is.
  • @heyysimone
The guy who died in the hole, if theyre naked and in a cement room 20-30° lower than the rest of the prison, they probably died of hypothermia. Severe hypothermia can cause hallucinations and paradoxical undressing where they try to remove layers of clothing due to a sudden feeling of warmth. Maybe, because he was already naked, he started grabbing his own throat? Itd help if they did an autopsy - see if he had Wischnewski spots on the lining of his stomach - a pretty damn good indicator of hypothermia

Shane is walking that fine line of respecting the spirits disrespectfully and I’m living for it 💀
  • @cynayu
It amazed me how Shane wasn't scared at all 😭 like i get that some people arent scared of ghosts, but to be alone in such a dark place famous of murder cases tho damn
  • I’ve introduced my parents to Ghost Files, which they are divided on. My step-dad thinks they’re too irreverent.
    “They don’t take it seriously.”
My mom: “The little one does!”
  • @jfygt2623
I miss the ghoul boys signature line were Ryan says "Are ghost real?" and Shane sarcastically shakes his head as no.
  • @zoedisco292
It's really eerie how the voices in the spirit box sound this aggressive compared to other spirit box sequences. Like, even if you can't decipher what they're saying, you can definitely hear grunts, screams and people talking loudly and fast. It's so fitting for a prison, that's what makes it creepy to me.
  • @samsparks151
This is the best paranormal show I’ve seen. No over the top yelling, no reaching for evidence in every little sound or breeze, just curious fun
  • The comedic timing of "right now? Caca?" when Ryan went to stand by the toilet was impeccable

I visited Alcatraz five days ago on holiday in SF and I consider myself a skeptic. That being said, we did the night tour and I had an opportunity to stand alone in Cell 13 in D block (Cell 14 was not open to the public) and if I didn’t know for a fact there was just me in there I would’ve sworn blind there was someone standing behind me. No noises or movements or anything but just a very unnerving certainty, despite the obvious physical evidence that there was nobody there.

I did then proceed to whisper ‘Choo choo pickle pie?’ but instead of a paranormal response I got a weird look off another tourist entering the cell.

    A skeptic I remain.
  • @TitanIIx
Shane saying he does this so he can enjoy historical places without all the noisy tourists is all too relatable 😂
  • This noise cancelling spirit box sessions are without a doubt the best parts of this show
  • Shane actually thanking the spirits after the REM pod thing made me smile :) I know he's skeptical and he used to have the sort of "reckless dickhead" role, but he's much more respectful now even if he isn't 100% dure if hr believes in it or not
  • That EVP where they ask “what happened to you” after the female voice was trying to talk, then they get a distinctly male voice that says “I died” gave me chills. Few EVP’S ever creep me out but the way it sounded like sad and matter of fact in a totally different voice than the one they were getting right before they asked that question is pretty freaking creepy.
  • @FunsizeTheFirst
I love the device they use w/ headphones where one of them just says whatever they think the static is saying and the other asks questions. Might be my favorite ghost catching device of the show. It's very silly and hard to take seriously, but trying to prove definitively that ghosts are real is a silly premise, so I'm all for it.
  • “i’m gonna be praying for you”
“that’s very comforting knowing you’re an atheist”
